The services that The Walker House provides can be transformative to our clients’ lives immediately and long term. Our clients’ needs can be multifaceted. Our approach is to meet them where they are. Each of our client’s needs can be different. Some of our clients need clothing, meals & groceries, transportation vouchers, and toiletries.
There are clients needing financial assistance with rent after receiving an eviction notice. While The Walker House for New Beginnings Inc, doesn’t have a physical shelter yet, our goal is to have a shelter in the very near future. We have been able to shelter our clients for up to a month in local hotels. In these circumstances, we bought groceries, meals, and provided toiletry bags as well as clothing.
Some of our clients have been able to move into long-term permanent housing because of the rental & deposit assistance that we provided.
Most of our clients do work and just need some assistance to keep them afloat.

Over the past 10 years, we have helped our unhoused neighbors by providing them with meals, clothing, toiletry bags and more.
When you see our unhoused neighbors brushing their teeth and literally bathing on the street with items you have provided them, it can be a very humbling experience for our Board & Volunteers.
We provide school supplies, uniforms, clothing, and angel tree gifts for schools with homeless children.
We do community outreaches for homeless men, women, and children. This includes hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas outreaches annually. We also provide meals, clothing, toiletries, and gifts during Christmas.
We provide support during natural disasters for families across the country who have been made homeless. We donate supplies and make financial contributions towards these efforts.
